Corinda C1850 - The gardens.

The current owners, Mathew Ryan and Wilmar Bouman have lovingly restored and created Corinda's gardens. Today guests can enjoy browsing the many garden nooks, pathways & find that little sanctuary to sit and absorb beautiful peaceful surroundings.
The land was originally part of a convict-run vegetable garden and
today you can still view the garden wall which dates from this period.
When acquired by Matthew & Wilmar the property had previously become a boarding house before reverting back to a private residence in 1980, so major rejuvenation of the garden was necessary.
Much of this involved extensive landscaping including cobbling and paving revitalizing the soil with many truck loads of compost and manure and replanting the borders and hedges.
The symmetrical parterres of the front garden produce an effect that is both elegant and formal. However the larger partier enclosed by pleached Linden trees froths with a gaiety and abundance of planting that softens the strict lines with a very modern charm.
The flower beds have been colour coordinated to create harmony and tranquillity in the garden with English Box topiary featuring native animals creates a uniquely Australian touch.
Today you view the garden after 20 years of dedicated work - see the Slideshow below:
